A Study on the Relationship between Type of Capability of Intergenerational Integration and Elderly Stigma in Adolescents: Using Latent Profile Analysis
Kang Si-On

Abstract
The purpose of this study was to analyze the relationship between type of capability of intergenerational integration and elderly stigma in adolescents. To do this, the raw data from the 2016 Survey on Social Awareness and Participation in Adolescents performed by the National Youth Policy Institute were used to conduct latent profile analysis and multiple regression analysis, obtaining the following results: First, three types were found according to adolescents' capability of intergenerational integration, and these types were named 'integration capability', 'proper level', and 'conflict worsening'. Second, 'conflict worsening' formed a larger part than 'integration capability': 'integration capability' formed 18.7%, 'proper level' 54.4%, and 'conflict worsening' 26.9%. Third, with 'conflict worsening' set as the reference group, 'proper level' and 'integration capability' negatively affected elderly stigma. On the basis of these results, suggestions for promoting adolescents' capability of intergenerational integration were presented to reduce elderly stigma.
